Requirements
- Be a U.S. citizen.
- Be between the ages of 17 and 26.
- High School/College GPA of at least 2.5
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet physical standards.
- Agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army on Active Duty or in a Reserve Component (Army Reserve or National Guard).

Submission Deadlines
- For High school Students:
- Document deadlines for four-year scholarship applications shift from year to year. Check here for specific deadlines.
- 1st High School Board: October 1

- For Current Undergraduate Students:
- Enroll in Military Science (MSC 101/102) class as an elective.
- Maintain a GPA above 2.5, and perform well in class.
- Scholarship applications become available half way through the semester and results posted the following semester.
Courses
Taking these classes allows the student the opportunity to participate in a number of activities that are unique to the Department of Military Science:
- 3 to 4-day Field Training Exercise (FTX) once per semester
- Ranger Challenge Team
- Weekly Fitness Training (Tues-Thurs for 1 hour)
- Weekly 2-hour lab that builds on the knowledge gained in class and is instructed by the Juniors in the program
There is no obligation or prerequisite for taking the introductory courses in Military Science.
Students are required to be contracted and agree to accept a commission to serve in the Army on Active Duty or a Reserve Component (Army Reserve or National Guard) to take the following courses:

- GRFD National Guard
- Nursing specific (up to 3.5 years)
- Covers 100% tuition and fees or room and board • $1,200 annually to go towards textbooks
- Maintain a minimum GPA of a 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
- Must meet ROTC program requirements
- Monthly contracting stipend of $420

Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP)
Many cadets choose to serve as officer trainees in the Army Reserve or the Indiana Army National Guard to earn more money for college. This is a volunteer officer training program that allows Army Reserve and Indiana Army National Guard enlisted members to participate in the advanced ROTC program.
